This is a 15 feet long Chinese painting scroll. The width of the scroll is 18 inches. The painting is about a story that occurred during the Han dynasty. At that time, China had just experienced a long unification war. The northern nomadic nationality utilized this opportunity to invade China. When the Chinese emperor died, his wife was in charge of the empire. In order to win some time to prepare for the war, the queen married her princess to the king of the nomadic nationality. This great heroine is the woman in this painting. When her husband died, she went back to her motherland and died. People thought she was a Goddess. Her temples are all around China today. She won 70 years peace for the empire. In the end, the Chinese emperor nominated a general who was only 25 years old and led his army to fight with the nomadic nationality. When the king of the nomadic nationality ran to today's Turkey, his one million strong army only had 100 guards left. The 25 years general's grave is in Xi'an, China. The emperor built his grave close to his. It is exactly like an emperor's grave. In Chinese old culture, emperor is the son of the heaven. It shows the importance of this war in Chinese history.
