XPC Sapphire O/S Iron Head XPC Sapphire iron heads have gone through a dramatic design change to be the easiest to hit, most forgiving iron ever created by the Golfsmith R & D design team. Wider sole widths combined with a deep undercut cavity position weight low and back for increased launch on middle and long irons. The split level cavity further enhances the lower center of gravity. The lower portion of the face is 6mm while the upper portion of the face is 3mm. This contributes to the solid feel and high trajectory. The special backpad design places extra heel-toe mass to reduce twisting on off-center hits and provide tighter shot dispersion. Progressive offset from 7mm in the 4-iron to 4.5mm in the wedges helps allow time to sqaure the face at impact for better accuracy and control.
